Organizing, Tutu's and Really Cold Toes!

Hello Blog world!
I feel like I haven't updated much on here lately, so here is a super big update of what I've been up to!

The biggest thing is that I've organized my whole apartment! Well I'm in the process of doing so.
I bought a new bookshelf and unpacked three big boxes. I organized the books on the bookshelves and threw away old things that we no longer need. I went through and cleaned out three big boxes from under my bed and threw away a few garbage bags full of garbage! I went through hundreds of pictures and organized them into my photo album. I cleaned out my kitchen cupboards and found a few things to donate to DI. I organized the cans in my cupboard and cleaned up my spice rack. I still have a couple areas left, but seriously guys, it feels good to be organized! And I even have a lot of empty space for future junk! YAY!

So here's what else I've been up to:

I went to Target with this pretty lady. She almost bought some Dalmatian shoes!

Instead, we bought these beautiful things for $7.42
What a steal!

We went on a double date with my cousin and her unofficial boyfriend.
We walked around the City Creek mall in Salt Lake. What a cool mall!

I got some squash and zucchini from my aunt and I cooked it all by myself!
It was delicious!

We played with this sweet puppy, Nutmeg!

I've been enjoying the beautiful fall weather.
Socks? In September? Say whaaat?
I haven't been this cold in September for 8 years!!

Don't worry, I still love tutu's.
I made this one for my witch costume for our relief society 'Witches Night Out' in October.
Can't wait to wear it out!

Just adding to my collection...

I spent a couple hours making a paper chain count down.
Only 12 more days until I see Carrie Underwood in concert!!

I attempted to make caramel apple slices

I'm just going to come out and say it:
"Bad idea Pinterest!"
The juice from the slices just made all the caramel slide right off.
I won't be making them this way ever again!
But don't worry, I will be making them again!

Happy Fall!

Hawaii

Several weeks ago I put in an order on MyPublisher.
It was supposed to get here on the 25th...
But guess what?

It got here today!!
I know, you're just dying to know what I ordered.

A book of our Hawaii trip!

But not only one, two!

The hubster's grandparents paid for our trip to Hawaii and so I wanted to get them something nice to say 'thanks!'
I had a coupon for buy one get one free so it was the perfect thing to make!
The book included a few of these:

We miss Hawaii so much and hope to go back someday!
At least now I have a fun book to walk back down memory lane with whenever I want!

Pleasant Inns along the way.

My mom put this quote on her blog, I loved it so much, I'm sharing it with you!

“The Christian doctrine of suffering explains, I believe, a very curious fact about the world we live in. The settled happiness and security which we all desire, God withholds from us by the very nature of the world: but joy, pleasure, and merriment, He has scattered broadcast. We are never safe, but we have plenty of fun, and some ecstasy. It is not hard to see why. The security we crave would teach us to rest our hearts in this world and oppose an obstacle to our return to God: a few moments of happy love, a landscape, a symphony, a merry meeting with our friends, a bath or a football match, have no such tendency. Our Father refreshes us on the journey with some pleasant inns, but will not encourage us to mistake them for home.”  (C.S. Lewis)

Jenessa Freakin' Jones!

This is my BFF from high school.
She left me for 18 months to serve a mission in Poland.
She just got back a few weeks ago!

With her family!

We went to In N Out.
She hadn't had it for oh so long and what a delightful reunion it was!

And I got some sweet presents too!
Some chocolate...

And my AMAZING new spoon holder for my stove.
I had this plain white one that I got for 3 bucks at Ross and I was just so amazed at how inspired this gift was.
I love it and it's gorgeous pottery-ness!

Thanks BFF. I'm so glad you're home!!!
